How to resign nicely?

I've been in my current contract job for 6 weeks. I posted on here about quitting after 2 weeks but its settled down now. I've been looking and have just been offered a perm role. I only need to give a weeks notice but I'd like to give more as we're at a critical point in the plan. How do I broach the subject with my boss who will be upset.

You don't worry about your boss being upset. Then you resign politely and enjoy the last week.

An email saying that you have been offered a permanent job. You are aware that you only need to give a weeks notice but you are happy to leave after x weeks to allow time to replace you
Thank you so much for this opportunity I have really enjoyed being part of this organisation I wish you well on a successful appointment

Just keep it business like. Write a short simple email saying

I am formally providing the required one weeks notice to bring the temporary contract to an end as I have accepted a permanent position with another organisation. Thank you for the opportunity and I wish you every success for the future.

Your manager’s reaction is their problem.

Please speak to them beforehand and then follow up with an email, stating what you said in the conversation.

Resigning over email is really poor form.
