One can dream.

I think I would buy a big house with lots of acres and spend the rest of my life looking after unhomed dogs and pets letting them enjoy all my new land, also buy a motor home for the travelling always been a dream of mine haha however with that money I could buy a something a bit more exciting

What would everyone else do?

@Dobbyisatwat

Yeah sorry, I’m winning it.

It’s meant to be, because I was going to buy a ticket and forgot and when we were in the shop, baby dd ran into the lottery stand and bumped her head, thus reminding me.

So you know. It’s meant to be.

I’m going to get two live in nurses to cover my dads care 24 hours a day because I’m about to crack.

Then I’m going to buy us a house no one can chuck us out of (another landlord wants to sell).

Nothing flash, just something nice where we can all be happy and safe.

Then I’m going to anonymously donate money the families of ill children to make their lives easier for the rest of my days.

I do think your destined to win! Hahaha good luck

Myself, I’ve been informed that the company I work for had a big lottery winner (a few mil) there in 2014, as my boss said ‘lightening doesn’t strike twice Hmm’ I’ll still try though haha!

I wouldn't buy a huge house op, I'd be too scared in it.
I'd buy a beautiful house in London but where? Primrose Hill? Hampstead?
Notting Hill... I do need a garden however.

And I'd probably buy a cutesy cottage somewhere else, maybe the cotswolds or perhaps Dorset.

The most money in the first instance aside from new homes is travel.
And do all the travel and see all the places I want too.
Then I'd sort dc out.. For different stages in life with money released at various points.

Then.... I'd indulge in a personal chef and trainer for a year to get my health on track.

After that I would be looking at altruistic endeavours.

godmum56 · 24/09/2021 17:04

I know this is going to sound like virtue signalling but I would share some of it around among family and a couple of friends and them give some to some charities I support. and THEN I'd splurge

Mariell · 24/09/2021 17:06

£111 million?

I think I would just buy one thing.

Travis Fimmel.

SuperStarRose · 24/09/2021 17:09

Thanks for the reminder. I've just bought a ticket. You've got to be in it to win it and all that jazz.

I'd buy a house with a pool surrounded by land and not a neighbour in sight. Start my own business. Have a chef, housekeeper, PT all those kind of things. Buy my DC a house each. And a couple of holiday homes somewhere. Get involved with some charities. Travel all over the place and explore the world

Dobbyisatwat · 24/09/2021 17:10

Travis Fimmel.

Oh wow, if we could buy people then sod it.

I’ll have Brad Pitt but make him dress and act like his character in World War z 24 hours a day.

Relaaaaaaax, I’m paying the fella £111 million.

Tiramiwho · 24/09/2021 17:14

Another one here who would keep busy ever after rescuing abused animals from all over, particularly Eastern Europe.

Agree with the PP about the lower tier winnings being ridiculously unfair in comparison Hmm

I will be sharing it with 1 other family member, otherwise I would go to the Grave never telling another human being about my win ( apart from a cheeky little thread on here 😇 )

the80sweregreat · 24/09/2021 17:15

The young Scottish girl who won big aged 18 ( I think she was that age , She was v young anyway ) she was on the radio once moaning about her massive win! She said she received financial advice from the lottery advisors and bought some properties, but she really struggled with the jealous friends and family and generally became quite depressed about it all. She was being tapped for money at every opportunity.
The interviewer was a bit skeptical, but she genuinely found it hard becoming a millionaire overnight and felt that more could be done to help the winners.
It was a fascinating interview.

Autumngoldleaf · 24/09/2021 17:22

80s I'm sure, esp I if your the sore thumb in your social circle it would be really hard wouldn't it.

That wouldn't affect us and we wouldn't share the news with many people at all. Our house wouldn't be a huge mega mansion or anything like that!
So no one near us would really know.

DominicRaabsTravelAgent · 24/09/2021 17:25

@Dobbyisatwat it's obviously meant to be!

Arrowheart · 24/09/2021 17:28

The first thing I would do is check out my New Look sale shopping basket and buy the three dresses that have been sitting in it for a week. Then I would buy lots of wool and open up a wool shop/crochet cafe.

Then I'd pay the mortgage off and have a party.

SleepingStandingUp · 24/09/2021 17:33

Buy a bigger house (currently rent and could do with a 4 bed long term), then buy my sisters and parents their houses. Friend has two disabled children, I'd buy her the house her and the kids needed. Money in trust for nieces and nephews and close friends kids. Cash gifts to close family and friends. Regular donations to charities Inc our local children's hospice. Learn to drive. Buy a shop to convert into a coffee shop/book shop and hire a good manager so I can just dip in and out and do some shifts, buy the books etc

GoingOutOutNEVER · 24/09/2021 17:35

I’d go to work and tell my boss to fuck himself because 1) I don’t want/like/need to be shouted at first thing in the morning over a trivial matter, especially when no one else got a bollocking
Then they have the cheek to tell me to cheer up … fuck right off dickwanker

iklboo · 24/09/2021 17:36

Pay off debts
Buy a nice house
Buy DH a good car
All expenses paid luxury holiday
Buy my folks a bungalow in an assisted living area
Gift some to family & friends
Big chunk in savings for DS
Go part time at work (kidding. I'd be off like a shot).

PermanentTemporary · 24/09/2021 17:37

I'd probably end up at Dignitas but I'm still buying a ticket...

I think it depends in part on your age. At nearly 40 my school friends have been in my life 29 years, my uni friends 21 years, my best friend 15 ish. Really the newest "close" person is DH at 10 years. It would be incredibly easy to weed out users
PermanentTemporary · 24/09/2021 17:49

I'm certain it's destabilising at any age. I'm not sure i could go on making myself go to work if I had tons in the bank, but I think without the structure of a job I would go a bit stir crazy. Willing to try it out though.

Autumngoldleaf · 24/09/2021 17:56

Permanent look up fire.

Financial independent retire early.

The principle is to live off capital investments within your means ie many fire people drive old cars etc. But you have "fuck you" money so you don't have to work in dead end jobs. You can pick, choose, retrain!

Mr money moustache.

Fallulah · 24/09/2021 17:57

It’s a ridiculous amount of money. They could give £2m to a lot of people instead of all that to one person.

I don’t think I would give up work but I think I would go part time. I love my job. But probably a sabbatical while I travel a lot!

Obviously give some to family, friends etc.

Set up some sort of nice residential unit as an addition to the school I work in, where we would also have rescue dogs!

Buy a large piece of land and set up a permanent Guide camp site with staff to run it so that units where the leaders don’t have their residential qualifications can still go away to camp.

Offer whoever now has my first car a significant amount of money to buy it back for sentimental reasons!

CherryLeaf · 24/09/2021 17:58

Ooh I love this dream. I think firstly I would go on holiday and take some time out to think about how to spend it. Leave my job for a while. I know already I would get my dad to the best rehab facility first, the best care and opportunities for him. Then I’d be thinking about a new house for us, nothing too grand but big enough for us and the children and the new dog. Then houses for all close family. Maybe a big holiday for all the wider family, go on a cruise together or something that we could all do. Then look for good cause, I’d love to give it to families who really need it. I would definitely extend our local ice hockey stadium and upgrade it, this was a dream of me and DF so I’d love to see that come true, plus put a good hockey school in there to help new talent flourish.
Wow I’d love to win it, I’m sure we all would do. Hope DH and I would be ok though, hear so many stories where the couple splits. So in that case maybe I’d prefer not to win as I love my DH so much.

Zeal · 24/09/2021 18:00

£8m - buy 8 petrol garages and shop franchises
£20m - two large regional toilet roll manufacturing plants
£45m - four CO2 manufacturing plants
£32m - HGV driver training centre and 120 trucks
£5m - Turkey farm
£1m - Pigs in Blankets processing plant

I would sell up in a few months time and take the profits.

theseoldbone · 24/09/2021 18:01

I wouldn't want anyone to know (bar closest friends and family) so Id pretend I'd won about 500,000 and buy a modest house and set up a business as a cover - probably a cafe.

Then I'd buy my mum and sister houses, pay off my 4 closest friends mortgages.

I'd get my DD a proper therapist and tell CAMHs and school to go fuck themselves.

Id definitely have a chef and about 107 rescue dogs.

biscuitlicker · 24/09/2021 18:02

I agree with some posters where they can make more people happy with £2m instead of one person with £111m! Anyway, I would buy my dream home, mum and dad a nice home, my inlaws a nice home and would give some money to my siblings and brother in law. The rest, I would probably set up a business because I need to work and probably spend £100k in Harrods for a fe Chanel bags, Cartier jewellery and a van cleef set with the necklace, earrings and bracelet. I would help out on causes as well. Also, I would tell family that I won the Tuesday draw not today's £111m 😇

SunscreenCentral · 24/09/2021 18:09

I'd pay off my siblings mortgages, and buy a house for me and one for my dc1. A bungalow for my parents. Set up funds for my nieces and nephews and dc2.

And then

I'd fuck off to my (newly acquired and gorgeous but not particularly ostentatious) place in France and have a big ole think
