I carry so much weight around my lower tummy :-(

It’s the section that, if I wear jeans, it sits below the top of the jeans. It shows though every pair of trousers and jeans. Like an overhang. It’s awful. I have been going to the gym for 6 months, have a PT, and it just isn’t shifting. I’m actually embarrassed by it.

I guess I’m wondering if anyone has discovered any miracle cure? I’ve just priced up surgery but the recovery seems awful and lengthy.

I'm exactly the same. I'm a size 10 but have this pouch i canr shift no matter how much weight I los or what exercise I do. I was recently dien to a size 8 doing weekly pt sessions and going to the gym loads but still had a big lower tummy. Sorry that's not much help but wanted to show solidarity. I love dresses but it looks awful in them. I think its eating much sugar or something. That's what I heard anyway.

Sorry for the typos

I have the same issue
Recently diagnosed with diastasis recti, so working on that

Also noted if I give up alcohol it reduces significantly, but still loads of skin Sad

Mine is a post csection dodgy skin fold/apron though too and doc has said as surgery created it, only surgery will completely get rid of it completely...

Yeah me too. The only way to properly get rid of it is to have it cut off unfortunately.

Me too, I have the pouch. It didn't 'shrink back' sheet I gave birth. My DM had the same but my DSs don't have this condition.

Isn’t this a FUPA? Just purely generic

chequeredinlove · 23/09/2021 22:29

*genetic

Thesupercosyquilt · 23/09/2021 22:33

I think for most people it's made up of mostly skin so needs surgery to correct it.

I have one since having two csections. I've been told it will need a tummy tuck to return it to what it was. I am not particularly bothered about mine. Generally tops cover it and I was never one for getting my belly out before kids

Yes I think it's supposed to be genetic. I didn't have c-sections and neither did DM. Both DSs did and they don't have it.

I just had surgery a few weeks ago for this issue. Recovery is a bit long and boring but not exactly painful as such. If you've got excess skin like I did there's no alternative.
