Morrison’s at Amazon

Have you had Morrison’s food and goods delivered via Amazon? Do they send it in bags? We are isolating so it would be easier for the delivery person to leave bags on the doorstep. I’ve only ever had Sainsbury’s goods delivered before but that comes in the crates. How does that work if you are isolating?

Yes it comes in bags

Yes it comes in paper bags but they will want to see ID if you order booze so maybe give the wine a miss.

Don't you get charged more for replacement items? I seem to recall getting charged an extra tenner, whereas Tesco, if it hasn't got your item, will replace with a higher or lower value item with no changes to the end price.

Substitutions was the word I needed!

middleager · 23/09/2021 12:56

OP, I order off Fresh by the way as no unexpected bill surprises.
Comes in paper bags, can be left on doorstep.

Yes you do pay charge for what you end up receiving but you get text notifications when something is out of stock, can accept or reject a substitution and send a message to the picker if you’d like them find another substitution. With Fresh you will always get what ordered so if it’s a huge concern then you can do that instead. A lot of the Morrison’s stuff is also on Fresh and they have Booths!

Yes, brown paper bags, watch out for the subs thing PP mentioned but it's a great way to get your cupboards stocked up in the circumstances so for me worth taking the hit. We aren't going to use it regularly because of the random picking/subs thing but it's a good service overall and we've never been let down by them unlike pretty much every other supermarket home delivery service at some point.
