Living in the congestion zone

I have just been offered to view a flat by the council, however it is in the congestion zone and as TFL have now stopped all new resident discount applications I was just wondering how those of you who have either just moved or live in the zone cope with paying the fee everyday?

i'm confused. you say the property is in a great location for your dc's school, but also that you'd have to drive to school. those can't both be true can they? I can't imagine any school in the CCZ that you'd need to drive to. and how old is dc? from secondary, they can probably travel without you.

can you keep your car outside the CCZ and bike / scoot / tube from home to car each day? it can be possible to hire a driveway or garage near a suitable tube stop. and you could taxi home from the garage if needed on late nights.

@parietal I'm not really sure what it is you find not to be true?
Obviously as I have said up thread why I drive my dc to school and why I need my car.
And as I've also said I'm in temporary accommodation so don't actually live within walking distance of my dcs current school, as we have been moved so many times I chose not to keep changing their schools to keep some stability in their lives.
If I take this property the secondary that I was hoping to get would be easier to get into as it is one road away, however where I am now it is still a possibility.

I also need my car for work purposes, it isn't viable for me to always use public transport as I work from different locations and usually have to bring stuff along with me.

Yes this is a fantastic opportunity and if I can find out what's happening with the residents discount I will gladly take it, but paying out an extra £420 per month is ridiculous.
