What does he enjoy and what does he already have? Dd is 2 and is getting a balance bike and a dolls house for Christmas, as well as some Tegu magnet blocks as she loves the ones she has.

He likes cars and trains but he has a lot already . I got him a load of the wooden ones a while ago
I don't want to get him much tbf just probably one main present for Xmas and one for the birthday . I'm just out of ideas

If you only want to buy one present then i'd go with a balance bike or scooter.

Perfect age for duplo if he doesn’t have that
Aquadraw
Early learning centre rocket if that’s still a thing
My ds had a toy car transporter to put the toy cars on which he adored!

he already has a wooden vesper scooter which was bought before he was born 😂it's been wrapped up in Xmas paper for a year as I used it to try and block his access to the tree last year
Duplo is a good idea

2.3 and getting selection box, dressing up, book, lego bricks ( younger sibling so using proper lego already ), colouring book, mini skateboard, bath bombs, barbie type doll.

Already has and enjoys scooter, duplo, magnetic tabletop easel, pencils, crayons, paint, wooden animals, train track.

We have a similar gap between birthday and Christmas. He is getting a train set as 1 main present and a toy farm for the other. As well as that he will get books, a seperate tractor that he can build with a drill, some puzzles, toddler safe knife for helping in the kitchen and an animal vet set.

My two year old likes duplo and Happyland toys, play kitchen, dressing up sets, play doh.
A wobbel board or pikler triangle are good for that age if you have the space.
