What colour are my sons eyes?

I have green, DH has blue. One daughter with green. One son with blue. I thought maybe blue but then his nursery did a eye colour hair colour chart of everyone and put him down as green. Not sure now. Maybe they are turning green. He is 3. When do they settle finally? My daughters were still blue at 1.

What colour are my sons eyes?

Blue

Joolsin · 23/09/2021 09:09

Blue/grey

Whinge · 23/09/2021 09:09

I'd say they're more green than blue, but they look like the type of colour that would change depending on the light.

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 23/09/2021 09:10

Grey

JaneJeffer · 23/09/2021 09:10

Grey and take the hair out of them!

Spidey66 · 23/09/2021 09:10

Blue

NewlyGranny · 23/09/2021 09:11

Grey. Those are beautiful grey eyes. It's a thing. My DF's eyes were recorded as grey on his army documents and passport.

DS is lucky as he can bring out the colour differently with what he wears. They probably won't change now he's three.

Noshowwithoutpunch · 23/09/2021 09:11

Blue/Grey.
I can't see green.

QuestionEverythingBaby · 23/09/2021 09:11

Bluey-greeny-grey

WhyOhWhyOhWhyyyy · 23/09/2021 09:13

They’re similar to my DDs, she’s just turned two and has always had blue eyes but they now seem to be turning green. It’s like a funny in between colour where they sometimes look blue and sometimes green.

Didyousaynutella · 23/09/2021 09:14

Ha ha. Yes noticed the hair after but he is off now. Won’t let me take another pic !

My sons the same, very pale blue grey but sometimes they look green. In different lights they sometimes have yellow flecks aswell.

DressedUpAtAnIvy · 23/09/2021 11:01

Grey. Grey eyes can look blue or green depending on light and clothes.

LalalalalalaLand123 · 23/09/2021 11:03

Grey / light blue.
I don't see any green at all.

2much2do2littletime · 23/09/2021 11:04

My DS has blue/green eyes. They were definitely blue when he was younger, but now he's 8, they look green as often as they look blue, but it depends on what he wears. He reckons he has green eyes. His dad reckons he has blue eyes. I say blue/green! 🤣

parietal · 23/09/2021 11:05

Grey-green

MackenCheese · 23/09/2021 11:07

Grey. My son has these eyes too. They started blue and changed around age 2.

LeonardLikesThisPost · 23/09/2021 11:08

Grey-blue and beautiful ❤️

FWBNC · 23/09/2021 11:10

They're like mine are now.

Mine were a beautiful blue until I was about 9, then they became a mixed blue/green then over time looked more green/grey & have, at times, flecks of hazel.

I hate having to fill in 'eye colour' I usually just put 'mixed' haven't been questioned about it yet!!

YouJustDoYou · 23/09/2021 11:11

blue.

WhiskeyNeverStartsToTasteNice · 23/09/2021 11:31

I'd say blue

dontgobaconmyheart · 23/09/2021 11:59

Are anyones eyes really 'just' one colour when it comes to the blues and the greens? Other than a couple of friends who have quite piercing lighter blue or green eyes I think everyone else in the category has similar sort of bluey green grey colours, myself included. They'll look more one than the other in different light, or relative to what they're reflecting off of (clothing etc)

People often declare mine grey but I think it's a misnomer really, they're just blue/green/greyish. Eyes that aren't brown lack melanin, and have no defined pigment to them, they're simply appearing blue because they reflect blue light, the same way the sea appears blue, or the sky does, and as we know both are changeable in the light.

Green tones happen when and if one or both layers of the iris have any brown pigment in them, the brown cells interacting with the blue to create varying shades of green.

Didyousaynutella · 23/09/2021 12:54

Interesting don’tgobaconmyheart. Today he has been wearing a dark green top and they come across as a sort of light sea green but looking at these pics they do look more blue.
I suppose because I have definite green eyes and DH a has definite blue I expected on or the other. They are just a bit between the two of us which is lovely in itself x

@JaneJeffer what a pointless thing to add.
