Which address should I use?

DP and I are mid 20s and moved into a new build apartment earlier this month, it was fully completed/open in June.

As a result the apartment post code can never be located and it’s all a bit of a mess! We couldn’t even pay council tax for the first few weeks

There’s 2 postcodes - one for the apartment building and one for the road. Do you think it would be a problem if we started using the road postcode instead?

Also with an apartment block, is it necessary to put the street number too in the address? Oddly enough we have 2 street numbers too. I think it may be easier to just go by

“Apartment 1,
The Dakota,
Oxford Street” (fake names!)

Or do you think the number of the street is necessary?

Use the apartment post code.

I live in a new build and for the first few months, it is a PITA. But now we have no issues with finding the address. Mainly because we used it so much.

Was the issue with your council tax that they hadn't valued the apartment? This is easily resolved once they have it valued.

Yes council tax is another pain, they’ve put us in a high tax band whilst the apartment is awaiting valuation, so we’re paying £2.5k a year until that’s done
