Fat shaming does nothing to help people lose weight @hamstersarse
Fat pigs?
That’s not concern. That’s judgement.

Bluntness100 · 23/09/2021 09:12

There’s nothing about moderation on this thread, people are posting how they eat three large meals with sides, ice cream and milk shakes in one sitting. It’s a huge amount of fat, sugar and calories and is as unhealthy as someone under eating, if not more so.

There will be people posting here who have food addiction issues, weight issues, and this thread is normalising unhealthy food behaviour. It’s not a bit of fun to post about bingeing.

Sparklfairy · 23/09/2021 09:12

Everything is about moderation.

I haven't seen much moderation on this thread tbf.

pumpkinsandcoffee · 23/09/2021 09:13

Not to rain on anyone's parade- but just want to point that some of the McD meals are ludicrously unhealthy. The big tasty burger they have in at the moment as 850 calories and 50g of fat Confused given that most people would order that as a meal with chips and a drink, that's not a very nutritionally balanced way to eat almost a days worth of calories.

I think going to McDs is about making smart choices, so you don't have to fast for the rest of the day.

frenchiemummy92 · 23/09/2021 09:14

I hope all you commenting how "unhealthy" and "fat" people are have the most perfect magazine bodies, exercise daily and never put anything in your body that you class as unhealthy 😏😏.

Why? Do you not think there’s a mid ground between never eating a sliver of unhealthy food and bingeing on three meals with sides in one sitting?
Alarae · 23/09/2021 09:17

When DH and I went to Canada, Mcds was one of the cheap places to eat there (as long as you didn't get egg).

They served breakfast all day there, so there was a time when we ordered 6 x double sausage mcmuffins and 6 x mayo chickens to lunch which we scoffed back at our hotel.

They also sold the proper BBQ Walkers crisps which you can't get in the UK anymore. We got through so many sharing bags as the supermarket was only round the corner...

I am actually yes.

I wouldn't eat a McDonalds if you paid me, never mind the gluttonous levels of McDonalds that are being discussed here.

It is truly pathetic to be gloating about eating like this. Absolutely no personal responsibility for health at all on here.

Other people being responsible for your health? Fat shaming makes you fat?

Give me a break

frenchiemummy92 · 23/09/2021 09:19

@Bluntness100 I don't think what other people are eating is YOUR concern and I most certainly don't think YOU or ANYONE else have the right to judge others either.

And that fat is polyunsaturated fat.

Literally toxic for your body - not just that it will make you put weight on, but in how it is metabolised (or not!) by your body. Yes, there really is such a thing as bad food.

PurpleDaisies · 23/09/2021 09:20

You never eat any unhealthy meals @hamstersarse?

hamstersarse · 23/09/2021 09:22

@PurpleDaisies I really don't!

I used to. But genuinely don't.

No junk at all. None. Although if you count a bit of 90% dark chocolate junk, then maybe I do!

I don't have a magazine body but I know I'm not over weight (9 stone and 5 foot 6). I think the point is that this should be about balance. I would go to a McDs and enjoy it, but I'd choose something like a cheeseburger and small fries with a Diet Coke so I could actually enjoy food for the rest of the day too.

Bragging about eating an 800 calories burger with large chips, sides and a McFlurry doesn't exactly sound like 'everything in moderation'.

Sparklfairy · 23/09/2021 09:23

@PurpleDaisies

You never eat any unhealthy meals *@hamstersarse*?
Theres "unhealthy meals" and then theres 3500 cals in one sitting as per PP and "still not being full".

Huge difference.

so fucking what?

There are people with peanut allergies, are we not allowed to talk about peanut butter... there are people that can't have children, so can no-one ever post a "line eyes" thread ... there are people who have had their Christmas ruined, so we're not allowed to joke about how Uncle Bob once made a brussel sprout catapult and had a competition and the fun that ensued??

You never ever have any kind of dessert, sugar, processed food, never ever have a pre made sandwich, eat out at chain restaurants, never have an ice-cream/lolly, never have fizzy drinks, never touch crisps in any form, pretzels, crackers .. don't tpartak ein tea, coffee, hot chocolate etc... ?

00100001 · 23/09/2021 09:28

@Sommernacht89

I find it offensive when people brag about how much fat they can eat.you wouldnt think,it was just a year since thousands of people died of Covid,mostly with underlaying issues.eg being obese.you eat loads of crap,you feel crap.this thread is typical;for fat people like to tell themselves stories that it is perfectly ok to be fat/obese.
so.. you're offended... now what?
Dentistlakes · 23/09/2021 09:28

OP asked how much McD’s you could eat, not how much you would eat or have eaten. It’s supposed to be a lighthearted thread and I very much doubt many people actually eat like this on a regular basis (if ever). It’s about balance and eating out generally isn’t very healthy (McD’s or not) and should be done in moderation. Obesity is a much more complex issue than indulging in a fast food burger every now and again.

Deadringer · 23/09/2021 09:29

Omg i didn't know Mcdonald's was unhealthy, or so high in fat. Thank you so much for educating me. Arseholes.

frenchiemummy92 · 23/09/2021 09:31

@pumpkinsandcoffee that's great for you! I'm 9 stone 2lbs and 5 foot 7. Exercise 5-6 days a week, eat healthy 90% of the time!

The point is one over eaten meal does not make you fat, people need different calories daily to each other. A skinny person that does bugger all all day will need less calories than someone who exercises daily and moves around a lot.

And I really don't think what any one eats is any of your concern. You all do realise if you don't like it you don't have to actually comment? You can think to yourself but keep your mouths closed. Fat shaming people does not work in their favour and often damages people more. Well done though on being so perfectly perfect that you all have the right to judge other people 👏🏻

This is a tad hypocritical given you were on a thread the other day saying that we shouldn't bother about moderating the competitive undereating posts despite the fact that they are massively triggering for people with eating disorders. Suggesting someone water loads instead of eating (as an example of something I've read on this site) is just as unhealthy as some of the binges posted on here. You can't slate the over eating posts without recognising the same harm that the under eating ones cause.

How much McDonald's could you eat for tea?
hamstersarse · 23/09/2021 09:35

@00100001

Nope! I don't.

I used to, like I say. But I have found food to be the greatest healer of all time, better than any medicine, and given my genetics aren't exactly geared up for longevity, I just don't bother with UPF at all any more. I don't miss it in any way. Never crave it. Don't want it. My whole family are the same though so that makes it easier. I have a 16 year old DS who has not eaten any junk food for over a year - that is true too. You could not get him to eat a McDonalds either. But he eats fresh meat (including things like liver, heart) vegetables, fruit and raw honey.

You do realise how the whole world is geared up to pour shit food into us when you don't eat it - our food environment is really horrendous, crap food literally at every turn - so yes, going out to eat is more difficult, but it is possible.

newnameday · 23/09/2021 09:39

Oh this is so much nicer to see than the underrating posts. Makes you feel better about yourself that there are others who can eat a full large dominoes in a sitting (I only eat half usually as my DH only eats half and so I feel like a pig if I don't leave half for the next day, too. Unless I'm super hungry and haven't eaten all day, then he can do one)

I have struggled with eating disorders most of my adolescent and adult life (mostly anorexia but bulimia, too, if I felt I ate too much - never a binge, just a regular sized adult meal) and this post is a breath of fresh air to me.
