Paying dentist

Ok so my teeth are rotten I'm having them all removed and implants/fixed denture put in. I'm have managed to save quite a bit which will pay for my bottom teeth to get sorted.

The thing is sometimes I Rob Peter to pay Paul. Now that Xmas is coming up it means I will struggle and find it harder. So I was thinking about transferring all the money I have to the dentist so I know that I can't touch it even if I wanted to and I know I don't have to worry as the money is there for my teeth.

I know I should be able to just save and leave it there but I have learning difficulties so sometimes I think it will work out and be fine. And then it's not and I just end up having to resave.

Would it be risky to do this though ?

it sounds sensible to me! I did this and paid in advance for dental work so I wouldn't be tempted to spend the money.

Also, cut down at xmas, no need to go crazy. People will understand if you're short of money.

I had my teeth done this year, you’ll be so happy when they’re done! Good luck!

I’m exactly the same when it comes to money. I paid upfront. I would recommend doing that. You honestly will not regret getting your teeth done.

great plan - then you won't be tempted to spend it.

But be sure to get a plan about your care and how much it is costing with a breakdown to avoid any confusion later.

It does make sense, I’m sure you’ll have thought of this but make sure they give you some kind of acknowledgement (receipt doesn’t sound right with dentists) in writing that you’ve paid as systems aren’t always reliable.

I'm thinking of getting my teeth done. Unfortunately I've got to wait 6 months for the initial consultation.

What sort of cost are we looking at?

CommanderBurnham · 21/09/2021 22:11

I'd say yes because you really don't want to be left with it half done.

I'm so pleased that I have managed to get the courage to go . It will mean so much to my confidence next time I go all my bottom teeth are going to be removed and I will get a temporary denture. (Not looking forward to that part) I want to use the money I have saved to concentrate on bottom teeth only get them all done. Have a couple month gap. Then from January start sorting the top ones out.

Congratulations on saving. A Christmas present that will last a lifetime!

Start preparing for a downsized Christmas and make sure you don't lose out by planning fun, cheap things.

No Xmas will be as normal. I won't make the kids miss out because of me. Its only me that buys for them. But it will be ok though. I can get the bottom done. Then in January I can start getting the top sorted
