Has anyone put their furniture/ possessions into storage?

I'm contemporary relocating. Hundreds of miles from where I am
If I sell up I'd like to rent in a new area to see if I like it.
I'd like to rent somewhere much smaller than I'd eventually buy.
So would need to store for several months

What do I need to think about?Cost? Insurance? Store near current home or destination?

When we used a storage facility insurance was included but you need to double check the conditions and be meticulous about noting everything. Get a unit a bit bigger than you think you’ll need. I’d have it near your new location in case you need to nip back to get anything.
