What 'warnings' have you had to begrudgingly follow through with

When it comes to trying to teach the kids a lesson or giving them a warning or consequence, I am firmly in the camp of 'only threaten what you're willing to do'. This has sometimes been as much to my peril as it has to theirs 🤣

One example was when the kids were young and were going through their 'press the button on the bus phase'. The first few times I explained nicely, if you press it when we don't need to get off, the driver will still stop and we will have wasted everyone's time. The button means you want to get off. I then said, if you press it one more time we will get off the bus. Guess what happened? We ended up being 20 minutes late to school and I had to explain why 🙈

So tell me your funny stories, what have you had to follow through with?
