Bike rack covers car reg

Hello does anyone know what product I need to buy when my rear bike rack obscures my car reg?

I can find spare license plates but dunno how I'd then fix it to the bikes.

Is there a certain term I need to google?

Thanks

You need a trailer board presumably?

But I would have thought the bike rack would have space already for your reg plates?

If you mount your rack on the back of your car, make sure your rear number plate and lights are still legible, because you’ll be flouting the law if they’re not, even if you can see them through the wheel spokes. Obscure them and you’ll points on your licence, and a fine that can run into thousands of pounds, so don’t take the risk. To get around this, you can strap a lightboard onto the bikes or the rack itself. This will have a number plate fitted and acts as an extension of your rear lights, brake lights, indicators and reversing lights. You can plug this into the electrical socket of a tow bar, if you have one, or get a connector installed in the back of the car, which shouldn’t cost the earth. Some towbar mounted racks will have a lightbar built into them.

You need a lightboard. It's not just the registration but your brake lights and indicators that also need to be visible.

Eg from Screwfix

If you end up buying an extra number plate, remember to take your logbook and proof of ID when you buy it, it's illegal to supply them without these documents, to make it harder to use false plates to avoid speeding fines, commit other crimes etc.

The lights are visible it's just the reg. Thanks for advice

I got nicked for an obscured number plate. Think I got a spare numberplate & made sure it was visible thereafter, stuck it to the bike, I think. It was a long time ago...
