Another night where I am awake at an ungodly hour battling with the sleep demons. I suffer from tinnitus and it is particularly bad right now.

If anyone else is awake and would like to chat - I'm here. Don't be alone.

That sounds horrible OP, how long does a bad patch usually last for you?
I'm up with a hungry baby, they've always been an excellent sleeper so I'm spoiled and this sleep regression is hard work!

WalkingFred · 21/09/2021 03:14

It's constant I'm afraid. Not as bad as it has been, medication seems to have calmed it down a bit. I have a newly diagnosed condition that causes it.

Hi, yes wide awake as always.

WalkingFred · 21/09/2021 03:15

Awww, hungry baby. I miss those days. My baby is a teen now. Cherish those cuddles.

Have you tried melatonin ( my Lord and saviour)

WalkingFred · 21/09/2021 03:16

Hello @tortola

Up with the baby and struggling with horrendous stomach pains while feeding. Think I have food poisoning and I’ve been struggling for days!

WalkingFred · 21/09/2021 03:23

Sounds awful and uncomfortable. Could you give the gp a call, if it's been going on for a while?

Newdreams · 21/09/2021 03:26

Hi I am up with morning sickness although I seem to be feeling sick all day and night at the moment. I am so tired yet cannot sleep.

TortolaParadise · 21/09/2021 03:26

Hi @walkingfred,
I thought I would use my awake time to start my Christmas list of things to do.

Omgnamechange · 21/09/2021 03:30

Hi, up after kids coughing.

MacNTosh · 21/09/2021 03:30

I also suffer from tinnitus, what medication improves it?

I’m having a stressful time right now and can’t get back to sleep, I’m going to try listening to an audio book soon.

WalkingFred · 21/09/2021 03:38

@MacNTosh I'm reluctant to recommend as this is prescribed for a specific condition that has been extensively investigated (MRI, Lumber Puncture etc).

waves

Another hungry baby here too. She normally goes right back to sleep but had the audacity to need a nappy change so now I’m trying to ignore the big wide awake eyes staring at me from the crib.

Sorry to hear some of you are having a hard time Flowers

TheWayTheLightFalls · 21/09/2021 03:44

I’m up. V pregnant with twins, woke up to wee and now sitting down with a book and some biscuits until I feel tired again. Second night in a row. Yawn.

Ladyinbeds · 21/09/2021 03:50

What does tinnitus sound like if that's not a silly question? I've suffered from rather debilitating misophonia/sound sensitivity for 20+ years, but luckily I live in solitude and have earplugs/sound cancelling headphones in 24/7, which sorts it out.

That must be torturous having a constant sound in your ears that you cannot dampen?

lljkk · 21/09/2021 03:50

Insomnia here. Segmented sleep is normal for me, anyway.

We just got kittens and having an "OMG what have we done!" moment. 20 yr commitment. Eek. They are cute, though.

SoundAndVisions · 21/09/2021 03:58

Up with a poorly toddler! Although he’s asleep now and I’m still awake, which always seems to happen. I’ll just get comfy enough to sleep and he’ll wake up ready to start the day! Typical.

BirdyBee · 21/09/2021 04:00

I'm up, 3 kids aged 1 to 21 and me all have a awful tummy bug, exhausted!

WalkingFred · 21/09/2021 04:00

@ladyinbed - I think its different for everyone.

For me it comes in different waves. At the moment it's like radio static interference.

Sometimes it's like a clicking sound in one ear.

When it's really bad it's a whoosing sound - not dissimilar to when you hear your baby on the ultrasound.

For me though.

It's.

ALL. THE. TIME.

It started around October/November last year and has been pretty much constant ever since but with the very rare silent day dotted about every now and then.

So debilitating and exhausting - the fatigue is off the scale.

Im awake as always …

mummabubs · 21/09/2021 05:11

There's some cruel irony here that DC2 began sleeping through from 9 weeks. I however have insomnia to the point that I've still, not gone to sleep at 5:10am. The dog hasn't helped by getting up to vomit on our bedroom carpet twice 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️

Sirzy · 21/09/2021 05:17

Been awake since 4 thanks to autistic ds having an early night last night!

Just as I thought he was settled enough wihh his iPad I could have a one ear open snooze a neighbours car alarm started going off so that’s our the window!

Drivingish · 21/09/2021 05:25

Been awake since 3.30, had flu vaccine yesterday and feel like I've been beaten up, fun!
