A true story film I can watch tonight

I have Prime or Netflix.

I'm finding lately that I don't have patience with nonsense films, but I do enjoy something based on a true story.

Recent favourites are Pride, A Call to Spy and the Freddie Mercury one.

Any recommendations?

Smoke & Mirrors is on Netflix and is (unbelievably!) a true story - I really enjoyed it (Spanish film)

I don’t know if it’s available on your platforms, but The Fencer is very good. It’s a Finnish film.

Actually, The Fencer might be a Finnish/Estonian collaboration.

Bit late for this evening, another vote for Lion. I love Dev Patel.

But have your seen Nomadland? It's not a true story but there are real people in it. It's fantastic and very far from nonsense.

On the Basis of Sex about Ruth Bader-Ginsberg is very good and gives an insight into her early years and feminism in the US.

Hacksaw ridge if you don't mind war stuff
I'm not generally a war films person but it was outstanding (if bloody)
