A true story film I can watch tonight

I have Prime or Netflix.

I'm finding lately that I don't have patience with nonsense films, but I do enjoy something based on a true story.

Recent favourites are Pride, A Call to Spy and the Freddie Mercury one.

Any recommendations?

I found Escape from Pretoria really gripping. Wasn't planning to watch it (not into prison dramas) but dp put it on and it's a real nail-biter.

Paddington.

It's a film a bout immigration and the kindness of strangers.

It's very moving . . . . and based on a true story, so I'm told.

Hidden Figures

Amazing film Saw it when it came out in the cinema.

3 brilliant black women working on the space programme, never known about or honoured till this film was made.

The Imposter is fascinating. I think it's free on Prime maybe?

Paddington 2, much better, Hugh Grant plays himself so a biopic of sorts....

Three Identical Strangers - it’s a documentary though.

Unbroken is fantastic - based on a true story from WW2.

The Eddie the Eagle movie is a fun lighthearted one.

Deepwater Horizon is worth watching. As is Dark Waters. Both on Netflix or maybe Prime.

ThisIsNotAMill · 20/09/2021 20:48

I watched The Upside with Kevin Hart recently and would definitely recommend. Based on a true story.

If it’s still on There. The Climb. It’s got subtitles but it’s so good you don’t even notice

Untouchable, on Prime. Best film ever. Laugh and cry. French, but don't be put off for one minute by having sub-titles. You don't really need them. A great love affair
