Does anyone think that the climate activist are actually causing more problems than they are solving?

Obviously! Anyone falling for the climate change crap is a fool and they have now proven themselves as being deranged idiots.

LukeEvansWife · 20/09/2021 18:12

I think they are managing to put off the very people who agree with trying to be greener, particularly some groups that target the public

I think the problem is there is something being done, ok not great but it’s not being ignored.

There is a long thread running on this at the moment. Lots of good points on there.

CorrBlimeyGG · 20/09/2021 18:18

There's bugger all being done, just lip service.

midgemagneto · 20/09/2021 18:19

They are doing the minimum they need to convince jo blogs that they care, that it's under control

, the minimum that has no negative short term financial impact

Way not enough to save our children's future

Pixxie7 · 20/09/2021 18:24

Agree not enough is being done and they are paying lip service but to date it appears to me that their actions are affecting the average person on the street, many of whom are making small changes already.

Are you seriously saying you are a climate change denier, Mariell? You know better than David Attenborough and the UN, do you?
LukeEvansWife · 20/09/2021 18:32

I think climate change is terrifying but being preached at by David Attenborough, a man who has spent his life flying round the world, is bloody annoying

midgemagneto · 20/09/2021 18:37

Small changes have small impact

We need big changes

We need infrastructure for electric vehicles
We need investment in tidal power and battery storage
Investment in off shore wind , generating green hydrogen
We need hydrogen gas infrastructure
We need all new houses to be self sufficient in heating , ban gas boilers
We need to own the Amazon

Pixxie7 · 20/09/2021 19:21

Totally agree with the above but I think that’s the problem the money just isn’t there.

OP posts:
midgemagneto · 20/09/2021 19:34

Borrowing from tomorrow to fund lifestyles today ?

Money is artificial
Money is political
Money is not a finite resource like air and water

Yes there is no easy way, we all have to pay one way or another

Pay small now or pay more later.

We know that reacting to climate change will be way more expensive but it seems no politician dare suggest changing the economic models or giving people less spending power

Spending power that in itself feeds the loop that will kill us

You're right. It's pointless. We are doomed and horrific lives and deaths await.

Thanks for reminding me how hopeless it all is

Pixxie7 · 20/09/2021 20:16

There are obvious changes that could be made but wouldn’t be very popular politically ie limiting flying and stopping billionaires from trips around the earth.
