What’s the best websites to use for comparison or what I need to look out for to change. Assume I’m an idiot and spoon feed me what I need please!

We use USwitch. If you’ve got a recent bill to hand it will help them as there will be figures on it showing your consumption, but if you don’t have one to hand they can estimate based on questions they will ask like how many bedrooms do you have, how, many people live in your home, etc.

They will ask who your current supplier is, what your postcode is (so they can identify providers in your area) and if you know what tariff you are currently on (this should be on your bill but don’t worry if you don’t know).

The more accurate information you have to hand the more precise the comparison, but right now all I’d say is if you are on a standard tariff get off it quick!
