Neighbours garden lights

My neighbours has installed these lights all down their side return that face our windows and back door, I can avoid looking at them when I put the dog out in the morning or evening and the side window that faces the living room. They are quite bright and the light catches in my glasses and it affects my vision. They even have kept my kids awake as they light up their room.they are on before dusk and still on at 7.30 this morning. How can I approach them about it? Am I able too as I only rent and they own.

Hmm you can't tell how they will react but maybe 'could I ask you a favour about your new lights, , is there any adjustment to their brightness and is it possible for them to be off after x time because they do glare off my glasses - I understand if there's not much you can do about it but I would really appreciate it if there's any room for compromise - thanks '

I'd go down the route of it disturbing the kids sleep they won't care about your glasses

Use your words. Ask. They are not mind readers. Neighbours at the back of ours asked about ours (already installed when we moved). They got left on overnight sometimes. Lit up their bedroom cos they are downhill to us.
Easily solved. We double check and also adjusted them so they faced down, rather than across the garden.
