Escaped dogs have just killed my neighbours cat

Bit outing but I am so shaken up and feel physically sick.

Just witnessed the most horrific thing I have ever seen.

My dog started barking really badly, 2 dogs outside barking.

Eventually after a few mins I look out the window and there is horrific screaming.

2 escaped dogs attacking my neighbours cat. They killed it :(

I am shaking. It’s the most traumatic thing I have ever seen. Police uselsss.

Nobody knows where these dogs came from.

I don’t think I’ll ever let my dog off the lead again :(

There is no doubt in my mind these dogs would've killed a child.

If a dog did that to my cat, I would stab it to death.

@StrongArm

The whataboutery on this thread is shocking!

There are some freaks on the internet. Cats are lovely and so are some dogs (my dog is a lovely gentle soul), but some dogs are horrible. You rarely meet a horrible cat in my experience.

Child bitten? It's a dog.

Child killed? It's a dog.

So all the people who "don't like" cats but think dogs are the best, get a reality check.

There really are some serious cat haters on MN. Absolutely bizarre how people can get so irate by a dumb animal doing what comes naturally to it. But even if you don't like them (as is your right) there's a certain element of decency in just keeping quiet on a thread such as this.

To come here saying 'well cats kill stuff' is basically implying that this cat deserved to die in such a brutal horrible way. Which is sickening.

Two days ago I saw one of our neighbourhood cats swatting a mouse about. Didn't eat thing. I have it on video.

Why?

Blimey the cat haters are in force on this thread Hmm

So sorry you had to witness this op. Do you know the neighbour?

I can't believe the police didn't contact the owners
@ChardonnaysPetDragon a mouse isn't a pet. People routinely trap and kill mice for no other reason than they are a pest. People don't kill cats in the same way.

You sound deranged.
Matilda think. that is a bizarre and sentimental comment
and quite disconnected frpm the simple reality of life. We humans are the real killers as we do not need to kill and are not critters obeying their inborn instincts. Were my cats not here the place would be overrun with rats as it was when we came here.
Cats have a real and vital role to play in life in balance, unlike us. We are a total ecological disaster and destroyer Oh and assuming that you never
eat eat or fish and never use insecticide etc
Cats are sheer miracles of engineering design and beauty
Off to feed mine so adieu

@ChardonnaysPetDragon

If it’s in a husky’s nature to escape, they aren’t suitable pets. Dogs should never be out of control.

As are cats. They are out roaming and are constantly out of control because of that, so that makes them unsuitable pets as well.

Hilarious.

And yet no one cares that cats roam all over the place fighting and killing each other and all the other birds and nsmall mammels they torture and kill slowly.

Cats rip each other to bits do they? Wowsers! Must have some seriously big cats where you live

A dog attacked some chickens near me and the police came round all the neighbours as they were concerned that dog could attack a child next time.

Got to admit though I'm in a very rural area so not a lot of crime!

As for cats kill other animals.

Well lions and tigers kill other animals too, so should we just let poachers kill the big cats too as they deserve it!

Blimey some weirdos on this thread!

The police wouldn't tell us if the dogs would be euthanised - I suppose they can't tell us that.

We all went out and cleared up the blood today to help my neighbour.

It would be sad if the dogs were euthanised just because their owners can't keep them under control. But I do hope they will be held accountable.

Bloody hell, this post isn't about cats behaviour, it's about a pet who was ripped apart by two out of control dogs, Jesus..... Some posters can derail anything 🙄
I think the dogs will be PTS @clarkkentsglasses, they would be very difficult to rehome and the owners have shown they are irresponsible
I'm so sorry for your neighbour , terrible thing to happen

That's so horrible!

There's an Akita up the road from me that the owners cannot control, even when its on leash, they struggle to keep a hold of it.

Its gotten out of its garden a few times and attacked other dogs in the street, yet neither the dog warden or police have had it put down yet! Something about it needing to kill another dog (and/or a child Shock - yes they are basically waiting on that happening!)

I worry about my own DDog getting out, Our garden fence has a very good lock and is too high to jump but you still worry! She's tiny and so friendly and utterly vulnerable to big dogs like that.

A few years ago we used to meet a lovely old lady out walking - just near her street as she couldn't go far. She had a wee bichon I think it was that she adored. Then we stopped seeing her. We heard she'd witnessed a greyhound rush towards her dog, pick it up, throw it in the air over and over again and killing it in front of her.

The old lady never recovered and died a few weeks later at home. She was well for her age before then. Dog responsible is still seen around with its owner.

I do, I send money to a TNR scheme.
