Have you been in a real life conversation or situation that felt like a film or TV programme?

I suppose lots of Covid moments felt like a disaster film.

Or more banal like someone you haven’t seen for 10 years showing up at your house - that always happens in TV/film! Has that ever happened irl??!

I keep a paper diary/journal and I remember thinking (and noting) during Lockdown 1 that it felt like I was writing a dystopian novel, not my diary!

I was on the tube system when the 7/7 bombings happened (though not close to the bombings themselves). I had to get out at Kings Cross and there was no real explanation of what was happening. The mobile network was down so you couldn't call anyone. Shopkeepers put TVs out on the street so that people could see what was happening.

On a lighter note, going to New York for the first time, it all seemed so familiar and TV-like because of growing up watching all the American TV shows.

When we go to the in laws it's like the Royle Family. We all sit in our designated spots on the sofa and watch TV and get all the gossip about their neighbours. MIL brings out the kit kats in a tin and forces them on us. FIL rarely leaves his chair.
