So we’re getting my little one christened tomorrow and we’ve picked the godparents. But there’s been a friend that has really put effort in to being in her life but there was only 3 spaces on the form and so I didn’t write his name down. It’s been eating away at me since, so I was wondering if anyone had asked the reverend on the day to add another godparent did they allow it?

I wouldn't have been allowed to do that. Godparents' names were entered in parish records a week or so beforehand and I'd had to confirm they were baptised themselves.

@DappledThings we only met with the reverend on Thursday to go over everything so I don’t think my church is as organised. I know he’s baptised so that’s not an issue.

I’m a godparent that was added on the day. Asfaik, Friends husband asked the priest if it was ok, filled in a form and all was totally fine
