Today I came home lunch time to loos not flushing properly loads of gurgling and debris coming up the sinks it was 🤮. Opened the man hole cover in the garden and it's feet deep in water form there. And sewage 🤮
It's a new build but I am way out of warranty as are my whole street.
I called a local drain unblocking company who came out quite fast and eventually traced the blockage to a drain about 50 metres away where they are building new houses. There was builders rubble in the drain. He moved it and suddenly loads of water and the drains cleared. This cost me £117. I knew when I booked I would need to pay. I'm not that fussed as I can't cope with the dc with no showers etc for more than a few hours.
Drain chap made it v clear this was a result of a careless builder.
Can I claim the cost back do you think?
I know there is a difference between adopted drains and not with new builds. I rang customer who said they 'might have come out' but I couldn't wait.
Asking for advice before I start harassing them Monday!
