The day went well, I felt a bit tearful. Took her BF with me and hes literally been crying all day. That set me off.
She is only 45 mins down the road so its not far, just a big change, shes my eldest. I am a single parent, she helped me out a lot and would babysit my 6yr old as and when.
My middle child is 15 and I dont feel as confident to leave 6yr old with her.
Facetimed her tonihgt, she seems settled and ok. Just such a weird feeling x

It is such a strange feeling. All that planning and then they are suddenly gone! I've done it with 2 of mine. I held it together until I got home and looked in their empty bedrooms. Luckily they were within an hour drive and both were happy and settled well. I hope your dd is the same, op.

I'll definitely be teary even if they'd moved into halls 10 mins down the road. A couple more years and I'll be in the same position. I have this idea I'll be sending random food shops with the basics and treats and booze for them to have and share. Not sure if that'll be to weird though Grin

It gets better. When DD went to university two years ago I didn't cry or feel sad, I just felt a bit flat, so I decorated two rooms. Then work got busy, and I was fine.

ds leaves tomorrow.

He has a car so he is driving himself.
Hallway full of stuff today.
he is out partying tonight with school friends.

It all feels a bit surreal at the moment.

I think next week will be quite odd.

he is also my eldest.

Oh it's the weirdest feeling. You soon get used to it though! 🙂
