How can we know how much work that particular shop has at the moment? What would they gain from keeping longer?

TheWoleb · 17/09/2021 18:42

You know your phone isnt all they do, right?
They'll have all the other repair work ahead of yours in the queue. Four days was the time it would take. Perfectly normal wait time really.

Maybe they close weekends or open reduced hours? As pp have said, yours won't be the only repair they've got on. Why would they 'play a crafty one'? That would delay how long until they get paid.

What phone is it? As their is a shortage of certain parts but a quick ebay search will show you if they are available or not.

DP found a guy online the other night to fix his iPhone screen. He was in our living room fixing it within an hour of DP messaging him and it was fixed in 15 minutes. We are in London though so most things are a lot quicker!

pulling a crafty one? it’s not like they get paid for each hour it’s in their possession Confused

Phones should never be fixed in a non esd area as it can cause damage so if someone comes to your house make sure that they have insurance incase they break your phone.
Most screens can be repaired in around an hour
Some like Samsung come as complete units but some shops separate the lcd from the digitiser and this will cause problems if they do not have the right equipment or not been trained. Iphone parts can not be bought only compatible parts from mainly China can be bought so if someone says its a genuine part it's either second hand or they are lying.
I have worked for Nokia, Microsoft and Samsung and the training is full on. But its a unregulated industry so anyone can call themselves an expert after watching a few hours of YouTube tutorials.
