Stupid question: do I have enough time left on my passport?

My maths is appalling and I am doubting my ability to count months Grin

My passport expires on 18th April 2022. I’m due to go away on 27th September and return on 3rd October. Is this just within the 6 months of when I return?! Do you count it as weeks or full months?

Thank you Blush

Reaches for UK passport… Ah expires Sept eighteenth two two ;;sorry the top row on my computer has died. Living in Ireland twenty years. Thought there might have been an issue with my being resident here but it was fine. I need it for official ID situations.

@WeAreTheHeroes

Phone the passport office for advice if you are in any doubt/check gov.uk passport office website. You may be able to get an appointment to renew in time for your holiday.

You need a new passport sorry. I work for an airline and we’re clamping down on this. It’s a joke now but it’s thanks to Brexit so can’t do anything .

What was that sarcastic post about @ItWearsTheBatteriesOut? What insight do you have that may help the OP?

There is a 1 week fast track service for £142. You need a paper passport application form from a Post Office, two identical photos and the supporting documents shown in the booklet that cones with the form. You can book a passport office appointment online.

@SoupDragon

I think you need to register to read the whole article but...

www.independent.co.uk/travel/news-and-advice/travel-passport-eu-brexit-uk-b1909813.html

But now it has emerged the European Union will let Brits travel with more than 10 years on their passport, with a leeway of nine months.

The problem is if the border control or airline staff don't know this, they're not going to take a punt and let you in anyway.
