Benefits claim SSP1 question

I have finished statutory sick pay and my employer has sent me a completed SSP1 form. I’ve applied for universal credit online but no reference to the SSP1 was made so I don’t know if the form is just for my reference or if I need to send it on.
I’ve just called the DWP line and they didn’t seem to know what I need to do with the SSP1 form either. They assured me my online claim would go through without sending the SSP1 form to them.
So does anyone know - is the form just for my reference or should it be sent with my UC application to the DWP? Thanks

You'd use the SSP1 if you were going to claim New Style Employment and Support Allowance (NSESA).

It's a benefit that's based on the National Insurance contributions you've paid. (Universal Credit is means-tested.)
