Do you work flexible, part time hours from home? What do you do?

I have had to give up work as my son has a chronic condition that involves frequent hospital appointments and 1-3 hours a day at school. My other 2 children are at a different school. Most days I do 4 school runs, so am in and out with 1-2 hours spare in between, maybe a day a week at the hospital.

Prior to having children I Managed a Children's hospice. For the past 10 years I have worked nights and weekends with profoundly disabled and terminally ill children. My skills and qualifications can't be used in the flexible capacity that I now need.
I am used to working with children, their families and professionals.
I have never sold anything and think I would be rubbish at it.
I am happy to take a couple of years to retrain, but I couldn't commit to a degree or anything that would take more than 10-15 hours a week.

I look at job sites and feel totally overwhelmed by them!
Does anyone have any idea of a job that might 'fit' please?

Could you offer some sort of support service to parents? Not counselling (although also an option with training) but maybe a way to post them in the direction of resources, etc? Some support groups might have a need for this kind of role on a part time basis.

I do transcription and PA/VA work, if you have a specialism in children with profound disability or terminal illness then perhaps tweak that into information/PA work that can help families who need extra signposting on how to access everything they need? I am spitballing a bit there as I don't know what the demand is for that kind of service.

If you've experience of the terminology then medical transcription could be an option.
