Confused over covid isolating children etc

Hi im really confused about covid and isolation. So my understanding is if a child under 18 has been near someone who had a positive lactrol flow or covid test. The child does not need to isolate and can still go to school. As long as there are no symptoms.

I'm also hearing if an adult had been double jabbed and has been near someone with covid they do not have to isolate. But if you have not need double jabbed you do
So how do you get the child to school?

And if I have all this totally wrong can someone explain it. Smile

Well you either keep the child off, or ask another parent/friend to take them

Not everyone has the option of asking another parent. But then if it the next option is don't take them I wounder if it would be unauthorised absence

@Abcdcefg yes it will be unauthorized. Do you not know any other parents at the school who could help for a few days?? They may need help further down the line

It wouldn't be unauthorised here. We would be told to use the covid code as it's a covid related absence.
There are many schools who are encouraging kids to stay home if it's in the household due to the risks of spreading it
