Is it me or will some teens do anything if they see it on the internet?

And as my Dad would say, and they say youth is wasted on the young.

NiceGerbil · 16/09/2021 00:48

'brutal beaning' Grin

No not all kids just do whatever they see on tiktok.

Not all kids have tiktok
Not all kids are a slave to what they are told to do by random sites by any means

What will happen is that kids who are little sods already will act on doing shit when they like doing shit.

The warnings to shops! I mean other no beans and you fancy beaning and are all ready for it then sure spaghetti hoops would suffice!

And they sure are a mess but it's not like keying a car or similar.

I've not seen or heard or any beanings at all.

With some groups why do so many people see something like this and think yeah kids these days. Hooligans the lot of them!

Kanaloa · 16/09/2021 00:48

Residents were understandably shocked when they discovered the brutal beaning.

😂

I know it’s wrong and not funny but what a way to phrase it.

VienneseWhirligig · 16/09/2021 00:58

Baked bean bandit Grin

AdoptedBumpkin · 16/09/2021 10:23

@NiceGerbil I know, but I cannot help but wonder if some people are influenced by sites like TT into things they wouldn't do otherwise.

Probably better than eating Tide pods and various other really stupid things that the internet has persuaded some teens to do Grin

Ashitaka · 16/09/2021 10:28

Click baity article

the new trend, referred to as “beaning,” TikTokers film themselves smearing the contents of a tin of beans on the doorsteps of unsuspecting residents, before posting the footage online. The stunt has also been compared to egging someone’s property.

goose1964 · 16/09/2021 10:33

It's a waste of food, which is against the zeitgeiest of the moment. Perhaps we should make doing a good deed tik tok worthy

Porcupineintherough · 16/09/2021 10:39

It's hard to get worked up about this. Personally I'll keep my ire for the people who "yarn-bomb" post boxes with crochet.

fuzzymoomin · 16/09/2021 10:40

It would be better to film themselves taking a tin of beans to a food bank imo.

Back in my day it was eggs and flour

ditalini · 16/09/2021 10:56

That'll explain the mess I saw on the way to school this morning (although this was on the pavement rather than in a doorway thankfully).

I assumed someone had been sick (after very, very recently eating beans!).

TartanJumper · 16/09/2021 11:25

I'm not sure giving it attention in the media and thus telling more people who may not have heard about this will help....

Still, imagine getting asked for ID for beans Grin

PomBearWithoutHerOFRS · 16/09/2021 11:30

I hate it. Every time there's a clip all I can think is "we could eat those beans" Sad
Deliberate waste of food when do many people are struggling just pisses me off.

AdoptedBumpkin · 16/09/2021 18:50

@PomBear, I know Sad

My son got beaned by some teenagers at the park. I called it bullying personally but anything for TikTok I guess

AdoptedBumpkin · 16/09/2021 19:00

Sorry to hear that @CloseYourEyesAndSee.

I remember a few weeks back everyone was getting excited about this for the wrong reason:
