I don't have any vested interest in the company or anything. I just thought I'd tell you about it in case you haven't heard of this company.

They deliver a box of unpackaged fruit and veg to your door overnight. It's all reject stuff that would be wasted. Its mostly local, and it's all unpackaged - no plastic shrink wrap or similar

You can specify if there is something in particular you don't want to get in your box, but otherwise its all a surprise. So as long as you are not a fussy eater, a constant supply of fresh fruit and veg, environmentally friendly and a stretch to your recipe repertoire.

Today I got pears, pineapple, and some green things I don't recognise, plus oranges, potatoes, aubergine, and other things

There are probably other companies that do similar.

The quality is really good.

Orangejuicemarathoner · 15/09/2021 21:24

yes, its really good. Tastes great - sometimes looks ugly or blemished. Thats the whole point. All perfectly good, but rejected for supermarket sale

Not available by me sadly, you might like Earth and Wheat. Similar but with breads

How are the boxes packaged for delivery? Do they have a lid? We live in a heavily fox populated area and they will be very interested in a box of food left out overnight!

Orangejuicemarathoner · 15/09/2021 22:31

yes they have a lid, but they are cardboard, and not I would imagine not fox proof, so you might have to place a fox proof bin or crate or similar by your door, and ask for the box to be left in there

I get this. I had another pineapple this week. I did sweet and sour last time with a half. I turned the other half into long sticks which I froze incase I ever make Pina Coladas again and need a a fruity cocktail stirrer.
Bit stumped at what to do with this pineapple. Oh and 10 tangerines.

But I am impressed with the quality and variety of all the fruit and veg.

Orangejuicemarathoner · 15/09/2021 22:45

I cooked baked some of my pineapple on giant mushrooms for tea this evening
