Electric bikes for non- cyclists

I have just moved somewhere hilly and would like to commute by bike. I can cycle 10-15 k on the flat no problem but I would not say I was a good cyclist. I have seen a fabulous offer for an electric bike. Any recommendations or advice?

I bought one a few years ago and love it. Try it out for yourself and if it's second hand make sure the battery is in good condition as they don't last forever and the bike can be heavy without power. Mine also has 7 gears and disc brakes to stop quickly.
I use my bike for work and gave up my car pass fairly soon after getting it and use it for most short journeys. I use panniers and can carry quite a load.
I use bike and cycle paths where I can and judiciously use the pavement when it's not safe to be on the road. I have arthritic knees and it's so much easier for me than walking.
I have insurance that covers me for theft, third party costs and accidental damage. I use a really good lock but I am wary of leaving my bike in town at night.

Thanks, that's helpful. Where did you buy yours?
