4 MN threads as 'news' this week alone

I know this is a public forum but bloody hell, is this what passes for journalism these days?!
Scrolling through FB and sites like Daily Mail come up in my 'suggested for you', and every day this week I've seen at least one article based on a thread from MN.
Just a friendly warning to be careful what you post!

Can you link to them?

@MistySkiesAfterRain

Can you link to them?
Why?
InnPain · 15/09/2021 16:58

@snanagram why not?

GreyhoundG1rl · 15/09/2021 17:00

Maybe they're started by journalists in the first place. Some of the weirder threads have a distinct fishing feel to them.

ParkheadParadise · 15/09/2021 17:08

The thread about DH clothes not being suitable for a funeral. I read online.

Concestor · 15/09/2021 17:09

Loads end up on Fabulous

Because I am guessing that they will be in the DM (or similar) and providing links will just get more clicks for their s(h)ite and re-inforce the delusion that they are being real journalists instead of copying and pasting/deliberately starting threads to save themselves having to do any actual work.

I think if you’re looking at the Daily Mail for news you’re looking in the wrong place….

ArtemisiaVulgaris · 15/09/2021 17:18

They're not proper journalists anymore, so have taken to scraping the bottom of the barrel by nicking discussion threads from the likes of here and reddit etc. They're utterly pathetic.

InnPain · 15/09/2021 17:20

@snanagram ahhh got you, makes sense.

FionnulaTheCooler · 15/09/2021 17:45

The one about the 3 year old being left alone in the play park while the parent went to the toilet appeared on The Sun website, blaming "the mum" for leaving the child alone when in fact it was the dad who had been responsible so clearly these so-called "journalists" don't even bother to RTFT before stealing it.

Yep this one, the one about the mum who overheard another playground mum saying she smells, the others I can't remember now

It's not just in theDaily Mail. I've seen it in quite a few news papers. I go on Google news so it's a mix of different 'news' sources.

I know I affect algorithms by clicking in them, which means moreof the same will be suggested for me, but I just can't help when I seea headline and I just know it's gonna be from mumsnet. I click on it and,lo and behold, it is.

If you don’t want what you post shared far and wide then don’t post it.
Mumsnet has its own FB page encouraging threads to be shared…
