Takeaway delivery insurance

Does anyone know about how much it might cost?

I’m reading it’s something like 200 a month, but that can’t be right can it?

It's probably right. Delivering takeaways is sounds like a high risk occupation, lots of rushing around, driving on unfamiliar roads, concentrating on finding no 42 in the dark and not on the road etc.

I suspect that the vast majority of takeaway delivery drivers don't actually have the correct insurance, because it is so expensive and they just hope for the best and won't admit that they were working if they do have an accident.

But places like Uber eats, deliveroo and Just Eat require proof of correct motor insurance, so they must have it to drive their cars or scooters. I can’t imagine it would be £200 a month. How would they even break even during the month?

Oh, I was thinking about the average independent takeaway that contracts it's own self employed drivers.

Deliveroo etc isn't really something that's on my radar, but I doubt that they care whether or not their delivery people make any money as long as the food is delivered.
