What's wrong with my begonia?

I've had a begonia plant for a few months now, and it grows well. However, it sheds leaves all the time. I water it when the soil is dry, and it's next to a big north-facing window. But every week, the plant without fail sheds leaves.

I attach a photo of the plant, and what the leaves look like when they drop. What am I doing wrong?

Try asking over here OP www.mumsnet.com/Talk/gardening.

Maybe put in thread title that it's a houseplant .

Looks like the pot is tiny for the plant - could need repotting into something bigger.

My bastard begonia macculata is doing this too. I overwatered it and now it's throwing its leaves out of the pram. It's a prick. It has like 4 leaves left.

Is it an overwater issue? Should I treat it like a total succulent?
