Night Sweats - What's normal

So a few months ago I started getting night sweats maybe once every couple of weeks. Nightdress would be damp and so would bedclothes. However over the last week I have had sweats every night and I wake up soaking. I have to dry myself of with a towel, change nightdress and put a couple of towels over the sheets until I can change them in the morning (don't want to wake DH). This happened last night but when I woke again this morning I had sweated again, not as much as during the night but enough to make nightdress damp.

I'm 40 ,non smoker, no medications, a few light beers on a Saturday night. I walk everyday and to do two one hour gym classes (cardio, weights) every week. I watch my diet.

I've tried to make an appointnent with GP since Monday but can't get through!

My DP does this and drenches us both! Mainly when he’s had a late night working.
You are best getting checked out by your Gp for bloods, eventually my DP went after me pestering him. They didn’t find anything, but they did tell him it was the right thing to do to go get checked out

Menopause, or peri at least, would be my guess. So GP, yep.

Thanks for replying. I had the mirena fitted in April so not sure if it could be hormonal.

Very likely the start of perimenopause. Talk to your GP.
