My eighteen month old had very very similar spots, a temperature, was off his food, and generally unwell last month. He had maybe 10 of those spots. DR thought it probably was chicken pox, but it didn't get any worse, so I'm not sure. The dr also said that you don't have to be covered in chicken pox to have it, it could just be one or two spots.

Hope they're not feeling too grotty!

Looks like molluscum to me - Google it

Chicken pox are little fluid filled blisters. Your picture is a bit small on my phone, but likely not unless it's as I described.

Agreed about the blisters of fluid. Also they tend to appear on the trunk (tummy/belly and back) first then spreads.

Appearing on the calf first would make me consider other causes.
