I saw a job advert for an animal care assistant at a nearby RSPCA centre, and I'm very tempted to apply. I'm sure it will probably attract a lot of applicants.
I'm just wondering if anyone has experience of the role or the RSPCA as an employer?
I assume that a lot of the role actually involves cleaning, avoiding cross contamination and completing monitoring and paperwork, in addition to the nice exercise and socialisation parts. I'm sure there's plenty of poo and animals that are challenging to deal with. I know there will be pets coming from heartbreaking situations, and that not all of them will get homes.
Is there anything I'm missing? I know it's hard, physical work. But I'm at a stage where a full day of dealing with literal excrement in all weather seems like a step up.
