Can a PTA be made dormant?

Hi,
Has anyone experience of a situation where no one will take on the pta roles? Does it need to be closed? Or can it be temporarily dormant until someone comes along?

Aren't they much the same? Ours was a Registered charity so maybe would have been more involved in that instance.

Does it jave a constitution? If so what does that say. Is it a member of the national PTA organisation? If so they should be able to advise.
