Wisdom tooth removed ? Been having neck pain for ages, along with jaw tightness and pain and headaches and the dentist thinks it's a wisdom tooth that's still below the gum line causing the issues, can all that really be down to a wisdom tooth I wasn't even aware of ? I only ever had one come through and that one was impacted and bloody painful and I'm dreading the same thing happening with this one

Yes. I'll warn you, it wasn't a pretty extraction (was done at the dental hospital) but it did stop the pain I was having. When they showed it to me afterwards it was twisted at an almost 90 degree angle and had been growing into the next tooth along. It was trying to erupt but in totally the wrong direction. It was definitely a liquid diet for a while after but it solved my problems.

I had three unerupted ones removed. Just done in my dentist's though. Two one week and two the next ((only one had come through). Had to have my gums stitched up which was ok. Pretty sore for about a day or so.

I had two removed, under sedation. It was no big deal at all and I healed very quickly

Thank you for the replies. The dentist said he'll be referring me to hospital. Does that mean I'll be put to sleep for it ? I'd imagine it's harder to get the ones out that are still below the gum line ? Honestly my jaw aches every single day I thought I had tmd didn't think a tooth that isn't even visible could cause this

I had all four removed under general anaesthetic in hospital.

Afterwards my jaws ached like I'd been hit with a pole and I had some swelling but it passed in a couple of days.
