Really weirded out.. has anyone else had this happen lately? Amazon?

Clicked on to my Amazon Prime TV for the first time in a while and there is the usual profiles, mine, DH's and kids, but then also one called Hannah. This Hannah profile has been watching stuff that neither I or DH watch.

I'm just really confused, I sent DH a photo questioning it and he phoned me asking what I was on as he'd checked Netflix and it wasn't showing on his phone, I said it was Prime and he started panicking about being hacked and people ordering things off his account. Checked orders and nothing suspicious at all.

I just don't get it, if someone was going to hack you they wouldn't make a profile and use their own name? I don't think it's anything suspicious, DH mainly works from home, we have young kids and don't see where he'd have the time to be having an affair. I'm really weirded out! Is this some kind of hack going on at the moment?

@ClaudiaWankleman

It's not necessarily cheeky, maybe she assumed it came as part of the TV which isn't an unreasonable assumption.

It's more than a bit naive though. A paid for subscription coming from a 3rd party company being offered free, potentially in perpetuity, with your 2nd hand TV purchase?

My parents, for example, would have no idea that if they bought a TV with an amazon prime button and when they pressed it they could watch amazon prime that it belonged to the previous owner. Why would they if it's never been on their radar

Well done you for knowing all about it but not everyone is as clever as you are.

Sure if you saw Amazon Prime and it let you watch things you wouldn't automatically know it's not included on the TV, but you would when there was an existing profile of the women who you messaged on Facebook to buy the TV from and her husband Grin She saw other names and added a profile with her own name. It's just so odd!

My Netflix once had all (three) of our account names changed to a houseful of girls. I think it might have actually happened earlier than I realised because I just know the position of each person in the list, I click without looking.

Logged them out and changed the password and it’s never happened again but I couldn’t work out who they were and how they would have got the login details. Seemed more likely that two accounts had somehow been merged in a glitch.

She’s a chancer lol. Just delete the profile and force Prime to log out of all devices. She won’t be able to get back in then.

Yes not bothered now I know what's happened, glad the mystery is solved just find it funny how odd it was for her to just add her name and carry on 😂 I feel a bit mean kicking her off Grin

I highly doubt someone with this little knowledge of non-traditional TV would be able to create their own profile, and consistently navigate to it. She clearly knew what she was doing.

She's have to be a bit naive to believe this.

Kind of disappointed there was a logical explanation 👻
