Dentist?

Hi all, I’ve only been to the dentist once and it wasn’t a very good experience (that was before the pandemic started) I explained to the dentist I have a fear, he didn’t tell me what was going to happen and started scaling my teeth (I had a sever build up of hard tartar) it was extremely painful but obviously I couldn’t say anything because my mouth was clamped open. I have a bad case of gum disease due to severe depression leading me to not practicing a good oral hygiene regime. Lately I’ve being having a lot of tooth pain and 4 of my bottom front teeth are wobbling. Can I ask my dentist for dentures? I’m not sure they would even fit because I don’t have much gum left on the bottom of my mouth. I’m quite nervous to talk to him because he’s an abrupt man…

It sounds as if you need to see someone else in the practice. Don’t let him do anything until you have had a thorough conversation with him about your treatment plan.

As far as I’m aware he’s the only dentist in the practice. Yes I’m hoping to talk to him before he starts poking around my mouth! I’m not sure if it’s because I’m a NHS patient that maybe they don’t have as much time because I’m not paying for the service 🤔
