Has anyone had a dream/nightmare like this?

Last night I had a dream where I was involved in a helicopter crash, and I was very aware in my dream that this was the moment I was going to die. I dreamt that the noise from the crash was so loud and explosive, that I literally heard it in my head, and when I woke abruptly from said dream, my head was throbbing and my heart was racing. The noise in my head was so loud!

Has anyone experienced a dream like this before?

I've had loud noise dream's but nothing remarkable. But omg the toilet dreams are stressful. I'll add toilets on trains- I'm trying to hover so I don't touch the pissy seat but I keep losing my balance and falling backwards onto it as the train moves. Also often I'm on show to everyone as the door isn't there or is tiny.

Train crashes. All the time. Sad

One of my worst was knowing I had a snake inside me and having to reach in between my legs and pull it out. Awful and disturbing. Very vivid.

My recurring dream throughout my life (although touchwood it's getting rarer now) is I'm told I have to go on stage in an hour to do a play and I don't know a single line and I have many of them. I wake up having awful panic attacks or screaming.

Last one, my job is to clear and sweep up dead cats from the streets as they're littered everywhere. I absolutely love cats and have a fear of dead animals and again I was fully immersed. This was a one off luckily. I never have being chased by monsters bad dreams just worst case scenario anxiety dreams.

Sorry op but I love the way this thread is being derailed by toilet dreamers. I used to have these constantly. All the usual scenarios plus toilet blocks being guarded by gangs of yobs, and once the only toilet was in my MIL kitchen while she was cooking.

The toilet dreams stopped when I stopped having a mug of tea last thing at night.

The night before I woke up with covid was an odd one. I dreamt I was laying concrete blocks and it was really, really hard work and never ending. I briefly woke up and felt my arm, which was burning hot.

When I eventually work up I felt absolutely horrendous.

Ohhh interesting.

I have dreamscapes that I return to over bad over again- one is like a mountain, with lots of grey limestone paving, like you get at Malham Cove. It’s really peaceful up there.

I also get sleep paralysis- usually with awful visions of a man assaulting me, or trying to steal DS from beside me in my bed.

And the other night I dreamed I died in an accident. Woke up just as everything was fading to black.

After seeing the news of the tsunami in Thailand I had vivid dreams of drowning, often in a room quickly filling up with water and desperately trying to get out. I would wake in a sweaty mess and heart racing.

Funny about the toilet dreams as I also get reoccurring dreams about toilets. Usually trying to go to the loo but the toilet is blocked or overflowing, or being caught short and going to toilet in a bin in public! 🙈

I only have really horrible dreams if I sleep on my back. I find if I sleep on my side I'm ok.

CigarsofthePharoahs · 15/09/2021 09:22

I've had the toilet dream many times! They're usually really exposed, often a room full of toilets but no cubicles.
I did dream I got shot in the head once. Very loud noise and I felt the bullet go into my head. Then I woke up with a splitting migraine.
My commonest dream is one of my teeth falling out but I can't get to the dentist because stuff keeps getting in the way. I've had this dream so often that during one I actually said (in the dream) "This is a dream, isn't it?" and the person next to me said "No, this time it's real." and I believed them.

AlternativePerspective · 15/09/2021 09:27

I had a dream once where I was doing something and someone came towards me with a can of petrol and they poured it over me and set light to it. I actually felt the fire in my face and woke up screaming.

I also occasionally have flashback dreams to when I had CPR two years ago, but that was real so those are obviously flashbacks.

Love all the toilet dreams Grin

Gosh some of these are awful. Makes you wonder what's going on in our minds whilst we're supposedly resting. Clearly our minds aren't!
