Giving talks at Schools

Evening all, I have been thinking lately that I would love to go into secondary schools and give some talks to students about careers in IT and careers for women in IT. I'm in a particular niche part of IT which Is business intelligence so coding etc. I was wondering would this be weird? How do I volunteer or go about it?!? I was thinking that I would of loved someone coming in to speak to me when I was younger!!

I did it as a court solicitor. Ended up back in my local area so felt I should. I just emailed the school, said I was an ex student, did they ever want career talks. Before I knew it I was in all the local schools. Then running mock trials, loved it. So yeah, just email or call. Don't think there is an official guide for that type of thing. Clean disclosure etc aside.
