FFS is it in every scriptwriter's contract to make labour and birth as noisy and stressy as possible?

I mean, can we see some hypnobirthing or something some time please? Or at least something that veers away from the 'stock' labour scenario? Hmm

I don’t think they had hypnobirthing in the ‘Call the Midwife’ days.

In that vein, we should scrap all fictional shows like Eastenders and the like because that's not even close to real either.

Mind you, that's fine by me, I prefer reality TV 🤷🏼‍♀️

I completely agree OP. It always starts off so bloody dramatically as well. Never just a slow build. It's so predictable.

Now I think of it, that show had the most realistic births but then again, you'd hope so really!

I don't mind the noisy/stressy part. It's just always very quick. You never see people phoning the hospital and being told (again) to wait at home, or people kicking about in hospital being induced for days on end do you.

YANBU
Labour always starts with the waters breaking dramatically and then lots of screaming, blood and a baby in ten minutes.

Not at all realistic.

My MIL swears down that labours were much faster years ago than they are now. Would be interesting to know.
