I’m looking to sell some tech stuff that is fragile and some are heavy and or bulky. What’s the best way to send it? or is collection the better option? I know it’s saleable but I don’t want to put people off with dispatch costs or be restricted by distance?

If you offer collection only accept cash, not PayPal.

Also if you can secretly mark it so that it can’t be swapped for a broke item. Photograph serial numbers etc.

Great advice, thank you.

You can send it via Hermes, its reasonably priced, just make sure its bubble wrapped and write Fragile all over it.

There are loads of hermes drop off points, usually in corner shops etc.

I have sold some tech stuff - I had the original boxes and packing and was able to state that is how it would be sent. One set even went overseas safely.

Heavy and bulky would nearly always be uneconomic to send. So collection only. If it is desirable people will travel to collect. Good photos, as much info as possible. Detail all faults however small. Cash on collection only ALWAYS.

However since Jan 2021 I have found as a private seller trying to sell overseas nearly impossible. I am not prepared to do all the paperwork so will only send via GSP. Not all categories are covered and you can only find out if "your" category is covered by listing the item and looking. Total nonsense.
