Anyone changed from Android to iPhone?

After patiently waiting for 2 years for someone to release an Android phone with a ~5.5 inch screen, I've decided to try an iPhone out. The iPhone 12 mini is a good size so I've ordered one.

I'm in my 40s and have only ever used Android. I'm also a Windows user.

Will I find it impossibly weird trying to get used to an iPhone? Thankfully I can return the phone if I don't get on with it, but v grateful for tips or experience from anyone who has done similar.

Happy to be told I'll hate the interface and should wait for android to get their shit together.

Speaking of... If anyone works for Sony or Samsung or Google PLEASE PLEASE pass this message along to them - every phone shop I go in sympathises with me and says they hear this all the time, yet phone to fit in an average woman's hand and pocket have died out.

There is a discussion in AIBU worth a read.

I use both (personal and company) . To be honest they are the same and you will get used to any slight quirks.

It still took me days to find the comma on an iPhone :D

I did a few years back. It was pretty easy.

Ooh thanks! This is encouraging.

What is the AIBU thread called pls? I'll look it up but that board moves so quickly

I was always an android user and swore I'd never get an iPhone. A few years ago I decided to try one out. I've never gone back. I love iPhones and cannot stand Android.

I’ve gone between them a couple of times. I was firmly a Samsung user but they stopped lasting. Now I’ve gone back to an iPhone (it was cheaper. Not the newest) and I won’t be going back. It does take a couple of day to get used to but that’s the same with every new phone I find.

I changed years ago. I found the iPhone to be much easier to use.

The new iPhone 13 is due to come out tomorrow so I'd wait as the 12 should drop a bit in price

Don't be put off by the title!

@superstar84 thankfully for the tip but amazon had a really good deal which made me drop my normal boycott Blush

Quite possibly their deal is in anticipation of people flocking to the normal retailer to get at the reduced price from tomorrow?!

I have an iphone for work, apart from being a nice size I hate it. I'm forever navigating away from the call screen in calls then can't find my way back to it to unmute myself. I'm with you on the size, I've got a pixel 4a which is still bigger than I'd like and bigger than my last phone but the smallest half decent android I could find

Ninjawannabe · 13/09/2021 22:22

I almost got the pixel 4A Melon but I much much prefer white or silver phones and it only came in black.

I waited for the 5A to be released but it had grown! So annoyed

I wondered about the Asus Zen phone 8 but it's really bigger than I wanted

I even considered the Samsung new Flip but its crazy expensive and I don't want or need a flip, I just was a ~5 inch screen

I stalked Sony xz2 compacts for a while on ebay but found nothing reliable and UK based, though I could import a used one from Japan apparently. I tried buying one from CEX but they'd erroneously listed it as a compact when actually it was full sized

Hopefully this all proves the extent of my madness and desire for a small Android.

Sony, Samsung, take note Angry

Was going to say the Xperia mini, though not released one for a while.
I used to love the x10 mini (I think) it had a flip out keyboard (so satisfying feel to it) on the landscape side so no worries typing.
Some androids have a feature where you double press the home button and it shrinks so you can reach all parts of the screen, although with my hands its still a stretch to get to the top corner!
