With the increasing amount of discrimination are we actually causing more problems than solving.
Men against women, black against white and young against old where will it end?

We live in a grievance culture. Everyone who is angry about anything is taught to direct that anger towards another group. Whether it's down to age, religion, immigrants, race, gender etc.

@Stasiland

I think people are polarised into different sides. No tolerance, compromise, pragmatism. No one even listens to each other anymore and god forbid changes their mind. Leavers v remainers, vaxxers v antivaxxers, pro mask v anti maskers, pro lockdown v anti lockdown, 'woke' (hate that term - prefer progressive) v conservatives, 'liberal metropolitan lefties' v left behinds.....I And yes we are all fighting each other whilst those in power watch.
Social media has ushered in the age of tribalism. I heard one pundit describe it as the football-ification of public discourse. People pick a side now (Brexit/Covid/Trans wars etc) and fight to the death, no holds barred. There's no room for nuance anymore.

I'm inclined to agree .

So much more intolerance nowadays.
You've only to look at MN to see that.

@powershowerforanhour

Yep Young vs old Men vs women Black vs white Brexiters vs Remainers Town vs country Hawks vs doves Boomers vs millenials Left vs right Big corps vs small business "Karens" vs snowflakes Cull the alpaca vs save the alpaca Anything that can be split into two opposing camps that are then encouraged to tear each other's eyes out. I think government and all forms of media don't exactly dissuade this.
No, they actively encourage it. Instead of wondering why this is, we fall for it.

Radio 4 has an interesting "Why I Changed My Mind" programme but it's a rare thing.
