Bored of usual stuff in online shop- inspire me

I need your ideas for nice stuff to add to my online delivery (Ocado or Waitrose). I’m just a bit bored of everything and seem to have defaulted to same old fruit/veg/cheese/carbs week on week. Meat is from the butchers and am lucky to also have a good fishmonger nearby. But I need some inspiration for snacky bits/lunches for WFH/something different

Waitrose minted pea and bacon quiche
No 1 salted caramel and ginger granola
Graze marmite crunch
Glorious sweet potato and coconut dal
Waitrose cappuccino mousse
Bottle green rhubarb cordial
Liberation Fairtrade chilli and lime cashews and peanuts

A new cereal always gets me excited, or a more luxurious bread that I can toast. Or new biscuits with tea, just the little simple things to snack on keeps it exciting. I’m not good with new meals, usually rotate the same stuff tbh.

Waitrose suggestions
No1 passionfruit curd (amazing on the light rye boule from the in-store bakery)
Caesar salad in a bag is great for an easy lunch (add some cooked chicken and/or bacon)
Yorkshire Provender chicken & lentil soup
The Levantine range has some lovely snacky bits e.g. halloumi pastries, roasted butternut houmous
Higgidy mini muffins (tomato & cheddar / cheddar & spinach)
Try some unusual veg to mix it up - e.g. No1 sweet sprouting cauliflower, baby leeks, Romano peppers
No1 ice cream range is fab - white chocolate, coffee, coconut & lime, chocolate & orange sorbet, mango & passionfruit

For lunches and snacky bits:

Ramona's Hummus is the best I've found - eat with cut up peppers/cuke/mushrooms(!)/broccoli/cauli (which is genuinely nice raw)

The pre-made gazpacho (Alvalle brand) is nice on its own and even nicer if you top it with croutons, a bit of olive oil, some cucumber etc can be lovely esp with a toasted cheese sandwich

Slabs potato crisps are the best and a small bag is very satisfying

Picard frozen cheese gougons are a wonder to have in the freezer - bake for 8 mins and have with a really nice cocktail. Picard quiches also great for lunch.

Tessiere syrups for mixing with sparkling water for a mocktail - particularly the mojito blend and the passionfruit one

(Sorry mine are all Ocado suggestions, in case it wasn't obvious!)

Oh another one - get some crosta & mollica piadinas and warm up for 30 seconds in the microwave (or in a hot frying pan), then spread with burrata and parma ham and a handful of rocket and roll up. Lovely for lunch!

bananapumpkin · 13/09/2021 12:49

@Xiaoxiong those piadinas sound incredible! Will definitely have to try that.

FreeButtonBee · 13/09/2021 15:04

Thanks all! Yum yum. Those piada are really good forgot ahoht those. They are going back on next weeks list.

Like the sound of that hummus too. And the cheese gougons.

Tempted by the rhubarb cordial too as am not a tea or coffee drinker and I have a soda stream so always looking for interesting flavours for that.

I really like Waitrose smoked hummus. One of my default WFH lunches is hummus, pittas, falafel and salad. I could eat that pretty much every day and make a big tub of salad so it's quick for a few days.

They have some interesting cheeses on their counter, but they don't show up on the website so you might not be able to get them in an online shop.

MotherWol · 13/09/2021 17:04

The Waitrose 3 for £10 easy to cook meats are great; so simple to just pop in the oven and have with a salad and bread.

TheHouseIsOnFire · 13/09/2021 17:25

These all sound amazing! Going to sign up for Ocado on the back of this thread.
