Am using Aldis own brand but lately dh showing signs of what could be contact dermatitis. What alternative clothes detergent do people recommend please?

I can only use non-bio. The best for me is either Bold or Lidl own brand, and liquid or liquitabs, not powders.

I'm down to fairy non bio but only in powder form and no softener.

loopylindi · 12/09/2021 17:30

Fairy non-bio liquid as I believe it disperses more easily, less chance of little bits of detergent stuck in fibres. No softener either but I think I might try vinegar in the rinse as that will neutralise the alkali in the detergent

Fairy non-bio here too - I find powder better than tabs. Haven't tried the liquid though.

If you don’t get along with the Fairy non bio that has already been recommended you could try Surcare or Filetti. I have no personal experience of either but have known folk who swear by them for sensitive skin.

Surcare. Totally non scented. I get it in Sainsburys or Morrison's.

CottonSock · 12/09/2021 18:52

Tesco have just changed theirs. The non bio capsules seem to now smell more, perhaps like fairy.
We seem to be OK, I always do the maximum rinse. Maybe you could do an extra one if machine doesn't have the option.

Surcare

maltravers · 12/09/2021 19:14

I agree, Surcare. Fairy brings me out in lumps!

Another vote for Surcare, or Waitrose Sensitive (white bottle, pink label) also works for me.
